Jane Forrest Redfern, Ohio Citizen Action, writes:

"I just wanted to let you know that I did the IPM USEPA's pesticide safety introduction and bingo game with my son's second grade class and they loved it.  The teachers loved it also.  I took with me a few live pests and the rest, I took plastic insects, snakes, stuff bats, etc.  For the tools, I took mouse traps and fly swatters.  The kids loved the bugs and had fun at the bingo."

Kathy Murray,
Maine Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources

Kids will gain an appreciation for how pests and 'good' bugs fly, walk, jump, crawl, and swim in this workshop to be presented at the Troy Central School first grade class in Troy, ME May 16th, 2002.  This workshop is designed to show children how insects move (and how they can be prevented from moving into unwanted places) and meets the requirements to address the topics of "Force and Motion" as part of Maine's academic standards for elementary schools.

Steve Miller, NECI

On Friday, March 15th, Mr. Miller conducted four classes on "IPM for Fruit Flies" for Mr. Ius' 9th grade biology class at Edgewater High School in Winter Park, Florida that resulted in solving a fruit fly problem in the biology classroom.  A description of the project can be found on the Ideas for IPM Ambassadors page.

Carol Allaire

Carol Allaire of Columbus, Ohio pledges to do an IPM activity for her daughter's kindergarten class.  The teacher is thrilled with her offer! The class has uninvited mice in the classroom and are currently studying nocturnal animals so she will design her activity with these elements in mind.
