Dr. Coby Schal is the Blanton J. Whitmire Distinguished Professor of Entomology at North Carolina State University. He has a B.S. from SUNY-Albany, a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, and postdoctoral training at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Schal’s diverse research includes projects on cockroach pheromones, cockroach-produced allergens, bed bug ecology and resistance management, roles of microbes in mosquito and sand fly oviposition, and the neuronal basis of sugar aversions in cockroaches.
