Parasitoids of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, A Specialized Training Workshop
January 31 @ 8:00 am - February 1 @ 5:00 pm
The focus of this workshop will be identification of egg parasitoids in the family Scelionidae, and tools for identification of parasitoids in Chalcidoidea will also be available. Within Scelionidae, Trissolcus has been a genus of interest for biological control of BMSB, particularly since the adventive appearance of Trissolcus japonicus in the United States and Europe. Participants will learn how to identify the genus Trissolcus and how to separate Trissolcus japonicus from other species of Trissolcus in the United States, Europe and Asia, depending on relevance to the participants’ research agendas
The most convenient accommodation is the UF Hilton Hotel located within walking distance of the UF Entomology Building where the workshop will take place. A rate of $109/night has been negotiated which is compliant with government rates, and rooms must be booked by January 2.
