Webinar: Flowering Insectary Plants Aid as Biological Control of Striped Cucumber Beetle

This webinar will feature Dr. Gladis Zinati’s research on the use of flowering insectary strips to attract beneficial insects, including parasitoids and ground beetles, and subsequent assessment on striped cucumber beetle populations with time. She will also discuss the strategy’s impact on cucumber plants grown in tilled plastic cover vs. reduced till systems.
Speaker: Dr. Gladis Zinati
Dr. Zinati is the director of the Vegetable Systems Trial at the Rodale Institute, where she also evaluates no-till practices, carbon sequestration, nutrient density, compost formulations and pest management. In addition to her 26 years of experience, Dr. Zinati holds a M.S. in Horticulture from the American University of Beirut and a Ph.D. in Soil Fertility from Michigan State University.
