Full time coordinator position working in our specialty crop IPM program with a growing independent non-profit organization working to improve sustainability in agriculture and communities through Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Primary responsibilities include providing pest scouting services to help apple producers achieve crop-production goals, while also reducing pesticide hazards. Additional responsibilities include growing and expanding technical services for our clients; coordinating sustainability certifications for tree fruit; publishing a weekly apple IPM bulletin; participating in field days and training events; and providing general office and administrative support.

This is an excellent opportunity to interact on a regular basis with specialty crop producers, IPM specialists and grower associations active in the upper-Midwest. The individual in this position will travel frequently to orchards located in southern Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of practical experience working in agriculture and academic experience relating to agriculture in the fields of entomology, plant pathology, agronomy, weed science or agroecology. This position requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The candidate must be willing to work in variable outdoor weather conditions May through September, maintain an office schedule October to April and possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Attire appropriate for an outdoor-work environment required.

Flexible schedule, 30 – 40 hours per week, hourly compensation ($16 – $18/Hr.) commensurate with skills and experience. Our rapid growth provides for excellent opportunities for advancement.
