3/14/19: Every year, more and more Mexican produce comes from greenhouse agriculture. Between 2017 and 2018, Mexican greenhouse produce acreage increased from 9,083 to 57,454. Greenhouses can increase yield and place heating, cooling, humidity and irrigation under grower control, while providing a barrier against pests. “It’s great technology” said Ricardo Crisantes, chief commercial officer for Wholesum, a Nogales, Arizona-based organic produce vendor.
