In 2018, Nestlé promised to make all packaging recyclable or reusable and reduce virgin plastic by a third by 2025. After struggling to progress towards these goals, Nestlé has taken a different path by investing $30M in Closed Loop to assure a supply of sustainable packaging. The sustainable packaging market currently lacks many affordable options. Because of this, companies often struggle to accomplish their goals and face pressure from stakeholders and consumers.
