Northeast Regional Center for Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases recently published Insect Repellent Essentials: A Brief Guide.

“Insect repellents are substances that, when used as directed, can reduce tick, mosquito, and other insect bites. Preventing bites will help you avoid disease-causing pathogens carried by these animals. This brief guide provides information on how repellents work, when you should use them, addresses common misconceptions, and provides resources and information on currently available insect repellent ingredients.”
