Walmart has been working to become a regenerative company by setting ambitious sustainability goals related to regenerative agriculture (RA). They have been working with with the nonprofit Midwest Row Crop Collaborative (MRCC) to ensure that 30 million acres switch to regenerative practices, which include improving soil health, decreasing greenhouse gases and improving water quality and biodiversity. Because this is a huge challenge for farmers to take on alone, Walmart is supporting 30,000 midwestern farming operations in their transition to regenerative agriculture. Walmart is also working with MRCC to develop key performance indicators.
