Dill Kumar, a sharecropper in Nepal, has been struggling to grow enough food to provide for his family in recent years due to complete crop failure. After partnering with an Agricultural Technician from the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Integrated Pest Management (IPM IL), Kumar increased his yield and income by implementing integrated pest management (IPM) practices. IPM IL also introduced him to markets such as agricultural cooperatives and retail so that he could address market barriers created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dill Kumar said, “The agriculture technician from the IPM IL completely motivated me and helped me in every possible way to continue my journey of vegetable production.”
