Apple Horticulture in WI

Cortney Cain, a graduate student at UW-Madison in Landscape Architecture, recently completed her Masters degree with a thesis on The Origins of Apple Horticulture in Wisconsin: 1850s to 1950s. Her book is full of state maps showing change over time and includes detailed information on Bayfield, Crawford and Door County apple production.

She supplied us with four copies on disc to share with your county historical society library or other interested groups.

For an electronic file that includes the introduction and table of contents, download it here.

The body of her thesis is too large to post here. If you want a copy, let us know and we can send it to you through yousendit.com For history buffs out there — I’ve posted the Introduction and Table of Contents on
