Dawn Abely is a retired C-suite executive and strategic growth leader with extensive experience driving organizational strategy, business development, leadership advancement, and member and stakeholder engagement. She brings significant board leadership and governance experience through service on nonprofit, industry, and community boards, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival Board of Directors, the Hotel Associations of Greater Milwaukee and Washington, D.C., the Wisconsin Governor’s Council on Tourism, and as President of her homeowners association. She also served for numerous years as Board Liaison to the Governance Committee of the Credit Union Executive Society.
She completed executive education programs focused on governance and board effectiveness at IESE Business School and Rotman School of Management, further strengthening her expertise in board dynamics, governance practices, and organizational leadership.
In this next chapter, she continues to embrace global exploration, cultural curiosity, and lifelong learning. An avid traveler, emerging gardener, and new student of the Spanish language, she brings the same creativity, strategic perspective, and openness to new ideas that have been hallmarks of her leadership throughout her career.
