Richardson International, a major Canadian grain processor will no longer accept glyphosate-desiccated oat crops starting next year. Another Canadian processor, Grain Millers, stopped accepting glyphosate treated crops in 2015.
Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s controversial Roundup herbicide. Bayer, which now owns Monsanto, recently set aside $10 billion dollars to resolve the many lawsuits in the U.S. from claims that exposure to Roundup contributed to their cancers.
